EVENTS
We build rooms that aren't sterile.
Most of this industry happens in bad conference centers and panel events that nobody enjoys. The conversations that matter happen somewhere else. Usually over dinner, sometimes on a run, occasionally across a chess board.
Carried events are built on one belief. That venture is a people business first and a spreadsheet business second. You back a founder because you trust them. You commit to a manager because you know how they think. You refer a deal because you like the person on the other end of it. None of that happens through a Zoom link or at a stage-and-chair conference.
So we build the rooms.
How we think about it
Every event is small. The size is the point. Bigger rooms produce worse conversations.
Every guest is there for a reason. We curate who is in the room before the event exists. Who sits next to whom, who meets whom first, what the mix of seniority and stage and sector looks like on the night.
Every event has a format that makes conversation natural. A dinner works because there is a table and no agenda. A boxing session works because people talk differently when they have sweated together. A cold plunge works because nobody is wearing a suit and nobody is performing.
There are no panels. There are no name badges. There are no pitches, unless it is a founder showcase and the format is explicit.
The formats
Private dinners
A private dining room. Carried sits at the head of the table and makes sure the right people meet.
Signature experiences
Where Carried is genuinely different. The format rotates. The quality does not.
- Morning boxing, functional training, or run club
- Padel tournaments with mixed groups across rounds
- Cold plunge and sauna mornings
- Private chef nights
- Chess tournaments
- Closed-door operator sessions with people who have actually built things
- Private art & architecture tours, after hours, with a curator
- Track days on a circuit
- Philosophy and stoicism dinners
Founder showcases
Selected founders present to a curated room of investors. The founders attend free. The investors are ticketed. The quality is controlled on both sides.
Roundtables
One focused topic. One facilitator. The room is small enough that everyone speaks.
Access
Events are available to Carried members. Access varies by audience and format.
VC members are invited to private dinners and can attend signature experiences.
LP members have a separate calendar of allocator dinners and roundtables with the VCs and angels they want to meet.
Founders are invited to events selectively, based on the mix of the room and the stage of their company.
Non-members can attend some events as guests of members, or by application where capacity allows.
